Mantis Knights

The most feared warriors of the Verda Loch are the Mantis Knights. The Mantis Knights are made up mostly of Mist Elves, but any living in the Verda Loch may try and join their ranks. The typical Mantis Knight is a Mist Elf that has been trained since childhood in the use of the Mantis Blade and Mantis Shield. When they reach adolescents they are tasked with acquiring a mount, to be more specific, a Giant Mantis.

Giant Mantis are only found in the Verda Loch, and are among the most elusive creatures in the Verda Loch. For their size, they are deceptively good at going unseen. They will sit motionless in the giant tree canopy for hours on end, waiting for a creature to walk below, gliding down silently upon their unsuspecting prey.

A Mantis Blade is a scythe like weapon, resembling the hooked forelegs of the mantis. Mantis Shields are small shields, resembling pieces of an insects exoskeleton, that are strapped to the forearm.

Mantis Knight

Mantis Knight are a special variant of the Eldritch Knight, and can choose from both the Druid or Wizard spell list when picking spells.

Mantis Blade: 2d4 slashing damage, two-handed, and finesse.

Special: If you roll the same number on both damage dice you get to roll and extra d4 and add it as a bonus to damage, if the third die is the same as the first two, repeat with a 4th d4, this can only have a maximum of 4d4 total damage dice.

Mantis Shield: AC+1

Special: You can have one Mantis Shield equipped and still wield a two-handed weapon. Due to the Mantis Knights special training they can have one equipped on each arm and still wield their Mantis Blade with no ill effect.
