Fey Troll
The Trolls of the Feywild are drastically different than those of the Material Plane. The Trolls of the Material Plane are a corrupted, mutated shadow of the strong, noble Trolls of the Feywild.
Strong, Chivalrous, Stoic and Brave are all apt words to describe a Troll. Tall and Noble, they originally hail from the frozen and mountainous northern Feywild. They are often seen as guards or knights in the service of Feywild Nobility. Their valor and taste for hard work has often made them generals, especially of the armies of the Fey courts, though the practical, simplistic Trolls are humble enough to not let it go to their heads. They can be loyal and honest to a fault, and are often disappointed by the manipulation that seems to be commonplace among other Fey. This has led some others to think of them as naïve, in reality, Trolls are not stupid, just patient and stubborn, though when pushed too far, a Troll may fly into an uncontrollable rage until either everything is broken or they are taken down.
Appearance and Lifestyle
Trolls are tall, ranging from 7 to 8 feet tall, with broad shoulder and limbs of strong corded muscles, slightly pointed ears, and dark hair. Skin ranges from shades of green to blues and greys, and ice blue or sea green eyes, and their strong, squared jaws carry a set of wolf-like teeth.
They favor function and practicality over the highly-stylized designs that are usually associated with Fey. This is seen in everything from their architecture all the way down to the simple rugged clothes they wear. When they do choose to decorate things, it is with simplistic knotwork or key patterns.
Even the lowest born Troll carry about them an air of nobility one might see in the stoic Knights of old. They value honor and loyalty above all else, and take oaths and promises very seriously. Often found working hard laborious jobs or as guards and soldiers.
Tattoos are common among Trolls, often showing lineage, profession or conquests. They are done in simple designs, knotwork and key patterns. All Troll are taught to read these tattoos along with their ancient language Eior (pronounced: A-oar), which literally translates to “Oath” in their language. It is similar to Giant, as it is believed Giant is derived from Eior.
